Amazon Top 10 - Christmas Eve
1. Wii
2. Super Mario Galaxy
3. Wii Remote Controller
4. Wii Nunchuk Controller
5. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
6. Wii Points Card
7. Wii Play with Wii Remote
8. Crackdown
9. Wii Zapper with Link’s Crossbow Training
10. Wii Charge Station
Wow. The Wii is passing everything on the list. I’m glad to see Super Mario Galaxy on the top of the list, even though it would be nice to see some other games on the list too. It’s weird that no DS items are on the list, but it isn’t a big deal at all. The only bad thing is that these people won’t be getting their gifts until after Christmas.

Smash Update: Overalls Wario
I know this is a pretty insignificant update to most people, but not for me. This update for me means more a of chance that Dixie is playable because a while back, Diddy was show with a pink costume on. Since this was shown, everyone said that costume was there to take the place of Dixie, but now that Wario’s overalls have been shown, that argurment no longer makes since because of Mario’s Wario colored overalls. So I was pretty happy to see this update.

I’m glad to see classic Wario in the game.

NY Times calls Super Mario Galaxy Unambitious
If I had to choose one word to describe Galaxy, unambitious is one of the last words that would come to mind. Sure the game isn’t revolutionizing the platforming genre, but it does take the best of platforming and mix it with new gravity and space effects, which is enough reason to not be called unambitious. Here is an excerpt from the article:
Galaxy is finely tuned and a worthy member of the Mario pantheon. Almost anyone can have fun playing it. But as with Halo, Galaxy is at some level mostly a reinvention of classic play modes. In Halo that means battling killer aliens. In Mario that means jumping and dodging and collecting stars to free the princess who, as she has been for more than 20 years, is locked away in a cartoon-style castle. That’s fun as far as it goes. -NY Times

New Site On the Way
This has been a very interesting week and a half working with this blog. I have actually learned a lot about WordPress and photoshop. Over the next couple days, please be patient while I get my real site up and running. I’m not going to reveal the name yet simply because it is not in a viewable stage yet. Anyways, thanks to everyone who has been following this blog. I’ll post a link to my new site when everything is running correctly.

Rumor: MegaMan Deconfirmed for Brawl?
Keiji Inafune, the creator of Mega Man, stated in an interview that Nintendo has not contacted him about MegaMan being in Brawl. From the sound of the interview, Keiji Inafune seemed disappointed that Nintendo hasn’t contacted him up to this point. He said even with a couple months left, he’d still let Nintendo add his character to Brawl. If Nintendo adds Snake to the game, but doesn’t allow MegaMan, then I’m going to be disappointed. Come on Nintendo! Add MegaMan!
Full Interview-(MegaMan portion about 13 minutes into the pod cast)
As you can see by the picture, MegaMan isn’t too happy about
not being included in Brawl.

All I Want For Christmas Is…
1up has a great article up about what their staff would like for Christmas. Even with the silly tone the article has, it still presents some good ideas for the industry. I think if I had to have one thing on my Wii Christmas list, it would be better support from third party developers. The Wii has so much unrealized potential. While the Wii is immensely popular, it hasn’t changed or revolutionized the industry like I thought it would when it was first unveiled. But that is for another time, and another article. All you need to do is click on over and enjoy the rest of the list.
“…is a gunfighting game for Wii. Not another shooter, but a quick-draw Wild Gunman kind of thing. You know, a tumbleweed goes by, your eye twitches, then you take off the top of someone’s head. Maybe pick up a Man With No Name licence. Bonus points if they pack it with a gun that isn’t the damn zapper.” 1UP Staff Writer Scott Sharkey
“…is a Wii game that actually invents a new genre, rather than putting a twist on what we’ve been playing for the past 10 years. And one that’s not surgery or cooking. I want to play as Zeus and throw lightning at people.” 1UP Previews Editor Matt Leone
“…is a game for the Wii that looks as fantastic as Resident Evil 4 did (a game that proved the GameCube could look almost as brilliant as Xbox). I know it’s a lot to ask, since it’s at the end of any game system’s lifespan that the console’s graphics suddenly dazzle. But I know you have the horsepower in you, you deceptive, glossy little brick!” 1UP Community Manager Jenn Frank

Head Tracking for Desktop VR Displays using the Wii Remote
That is so freaking amazing. Nintendo needs to hire this guy right now and start making some games using this software. The thing is, this would be very inexpensive to implement into a game. Package the game with some infrared emitting glasses and you have a game that could change the face of gaming. This is what the Wii was meant for.
